LEAD1 Heads to Ohio State for 20th Annual Institute

The Institute will be held July 22-24, 2019, at the Schottenstein Center at Ohio State University.

The LEAD1 Association announced today that it will host its 2019 LEAD1 Institute Monday-Wednesday, July 22-24, on the campus of Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

Now in its 20th year, the Institute is the premier mentoring program helping senior administrators prepare to become athletics directors. Participants learn from veteran Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) athletics directors who serve as faculty for the program and network with top hiring executives from national search firms. The senior administrators chosen to attend are nominated for the event by their respective athletics directors.

The Institute will again feature the awarding of minority scholarships to those who have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities in college sports administration and show the potential to advance to an athletics director position.

“We have improved the Institute to better encourage education and growth in careers in college athletics,” said Tom McMillen, President and CEO of LEAD1. “Attendees will have personal interaction with the top executive search firms in the country. I look forward to working with those selected for this year’s event.”
