FBS Athletics Directors Association Unveils New Logo

The design process was guided by FBS Athletics Directors President & CEO, Heather Lyke. "The ADs at our 134 member institutions are tirelessly driven to provide the best possible student-athlete experience for all sports on campus, while competing for conference and national championships and qualifying for the College Football Playoff and bowl games," said Lyke.

CLEVELAND – The FBS Athletics Directors Association unveiled a new logo today as part of the Association’s rebrand and restructure as an Affiliate of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). The FBS AD Association, which represents the 134 member institutions of the Football Bowl Subdivision, formally announced its transition from its previous name, LEAD1 Association, in September.

The design process was guided by FBS AD Association Acting President and Chief Executive Officer Heather Lyke, and the Board of Directors voted on the final design at its in-person meeting in Las Vegas last week.

“As the country and our industry focus their attention on the College Football Playoff and bowl games over the next few weeks, now is the perfect time for our Association to come together and unite under our new name and brand,” said Lyke. “While developing an enhanced identity for the FBS Athletics Directors, it was important for us to highlight the unifying theme that brings us all together and drives our daily discussions, and that is the sport of football. The ADs at our 134 member institutions are tirelessly driven to provide the best possible student-athlete experience for all sports on campus, while competing for conference and national championships and qualifying for the College Football Playoff and bowl games.”

The new logo was designed by Harley Creative, an Atlanta-based firm specializing in graphic design and visual communication solutions with an emphasis on the sports and entertainment industry. President and Creative Director T.J. Harley has been a staple in the college sports design industry for more than two decades – formerly serving as the Creative Director for CLC/IMG College. Some of Harley Creative’s clients include NACDA, the College Football Hall of Fame, the University of Notre Dame, the Naismith Awards, and the Atlanta Sports Council.

“From the beginning nearly four decades ago as the D1A, to LEAD1, and now the FBS AD Association, this group has consistently evolved with the landscape of intercollegiate athletics,” Lyke said. “This new logo and brand sets the stage for our future as we collectively navigate what lies ahead.”
