From Syracuse Athletics:
In 2017, the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics began collaborating with Cuse Athletics to develop a sales team, comprised of students, dedicated to women’s basketball ticket sales. One of the many highlights of the sales club’s success was helping to break the all-time women’s basketball attendance record for a single game when the Orange played Notre Dame on February 19, 2017 at the Carrier Dome. After seeing a 400% increase in sales in their first year, they are on pace to surpass their projected revenue for the 2018-19 season. The program also included:
- Sport Analytics academic program using analytics to enhance player performance, increase ticket sales and fan attendance/predictability.
- Worked collaboratively with Dr. Pat Walsh to develop a fall semester marketing course focused on creating a women’s basketball marketing plan, which allowed students to attend games, do fan research, and pitch their marketing plans to athletics.
- Facilitated a Falk capstone project focused on marketing and ticket Sales.
