Athletics Department Spotlight: Old Dominion

From ODU Athletics:

The ODU Game Day Professor Program was created to build and enhance a better relationship between the campus community and athletics. Faculty members attend a practice or competition to get an inside look into the lives of student-athletes and are recognized to show appreciation for their support of athletics and the university.

“The Game Day Professor initiative hopes to build and enhance the relationship between the ODU campus community and Athletics,” said Shannon St. Pierre, Athletic Academic Advisor. “The faculty members will be able to get an inside look into what student-athletes are doing when he or she is not in class. They will see, firsthand, the commitment that student-athletes make to compete athletically.”

St. Pierre continued saying, “The opportunity to be a ‘Game Day Professor’ is also a way to show appreciation for all the existing support that Athletics receives from the University. Hosting a ‘Game Day Professor’ will locally and nationally showcase that being a student comes first at ODU!”
